What actually decides it

Corridors at changeover are the worst load a floor sees

Hundreds of pupils in ninety seconds, several times a day. This is a heavy-commercial specification, not a light-commercial one.

Emissions get asked about by name

A rigid core is PVC resin and limestone with no wood content, so there is no urea-formaldehyde binder in it at all — a stronger statement than a low-emission rating on a wood-based board.

Slip resistance when wet

The surface becomes more astringent when wet, which is why it is specified for schools and hospitals.

Repairs happen mid-term

A glueless click floor lets a damaged plank be lifted and replaced over a weekend instead of a holiday.
